Flash updates

Right now we are  definitely adding two  race for our next year race plans. This Two event we are almost 100% sure we could and can run it. The car is  set up for it, and need no changes, besides the damaged engine head we had to put it back for MT Washington hill climb. We had no money and time to get a new head and build for that race.  Next year race plan will be posted later. Mean time i thought i will post this for a  guys around the Tristate area to know we are planning to run them.

“April 21 – 22, 2012: Rally New York USA
This is an all new tarmac event in a new location. All new special stages located in Rock Hill and Thompson, which include a unique 20-mile tarmac stage and a super special stage at Monticello Motor Club. This new event is taking over the established name of Rally New York USA and is located in Rock Hill, NY, which is adjacent to Monticello, NY. The event has full support of the local community, it is presented by the Rock Hill Business Association and it is hosted by the Rock Hill Fire Department.

August 24 – 25, 2012: Rally Delaware

This is also a new tarmac event for the first time entirely based in Walton, NY in Delaware County, combining all the roads we have used in Delaware County individually over the last three years.”

Updates

WE proudly can announce, we were very success full at 2011 MT Washington Hillclimb.

We not just finished 1st place in our category, top of that all, we were the fastest rally car of all on the road that day.  Some how we managed to finish front of many experienced rally driver and teams , like Chris Duplessis who is (if some one doesn’t know)  Drives for Team O’neil rally school and Ford Racing, Two time Rally America Champion in 2wd- had won numerous regional rally championships and drove the 2010 X games.  As so the Whimpey brothers also a very successful and great drivers!  Kearny -  Cassidy from Canada – O’leary  with an EVo X , many  road racer champions etc. Overall we placed out of 75 cars the 12th place which we are very proud of.  This race  had many big names and very powerful teams -cars – drivers. I will do a detailed write up asap about the race and  the surrounding stories. Right now i am still waiting to finish all the videos we have.

For easy  start, here is some short videos our very first run at the practice day  /inside and the race day  bumper camera.

I would like to welcome our new sponsor http://www.essexparts.com/ We are very happy to have them on board , and looking forward  to work with them.

Last weekend during the testing day  at NJMP  with a Porsche club  sadly we blew the engine.  There for the coming Rally New York is out of question for us. Only 4 days left and  basically we have no engine.

video link

Short story about the  past NJMP testing with a Porsche Club:

The story in Hunglish, sorry for this.

So , we signed up for testing purposes for the Porsche club day in NJMP at Thunderbolt.

We got there of course late and we had no proper inspection as the club required previously from the event, so the inspection had to be done at your place not at the event… . I dont go to details here , but we got on track

I got finally the tarmac springs instead the 280 rated spring on my AST. I have to tell you guys, i have been ridden and drove many coils before, for track guys this set up is absolutely flawless predictable and AWESOME!. So i really feel after 2 years we got a great starting point on the car with suspension. This AST suspension is stellar in any counts.

Second major thing was the ABS delete and the proper 2 master cylinder – brake bias controller pedal box set up.
http://www.rktmotors.com/-  fabricated for me with my original pedals that set up with tilton etc parts. Although my pads are absolutely not designed for this type of set up, the brakes are ridiculously precised and predictable. No fading no other issues. You feel the dust under you feet on the surface.  It is ridiculous!  Also it is another major thing, the whole suspension  and wheel alignment – corner balancing set up with other  tricks , which was done by them also.

That is a shop you should go if you seriously want improvements!

Sum it up, On stock tire size (2 year’s old R888″s) and 3500 lb race weight my car handles spot on.

The Porsche club put me in the black grupe, which i was pretty mad. I previously told them , i have 245 whp and 345 wtq with my tire/245-45-18/ size and 3500 weight. I do not want conflict on track because of that.
The grupe was really like 20 cars or more. All on slicks etc. Also that was my first time ever i saw that track. So against all my  thought, the car wasn’t a road block on the  road course.  Also i have to make a note , Porsche Club and they members are  really great guys. I can say this;  i got a very friendly environment there.

BUT here comes the sad part. after the session 2 my connecting rod in the 4th cylinder gave up and blew up the engine. There is 1000 reasons why it could happen. Can be premature failure, before connected to previous tuner failures to too much limp mode some reasons -boost etc. But it happened what can i do?

I got called immediately from RKT motors to bring the car back for analysis. SO i took some picture before i left i will put the below.
The spark plugs looks like brand new and looks like nothing else is damaged besides the block.

Time to build the real rally engine and leave the stock behind. From the process i will post pictures and so. But if something confidential i will keep it …  sorry guys, shop rules are shop rules !

Next event will be Mt Washington  if everything will work out  , what we have planned .

Check the updates    later.

To whom it may concern

We need to have more days off at some events , due the tech inspection – travel – and required meetings for events. Usually 1-2 days prior the event or race days. But some evens like MT Washington , requires a 3 days early arriving.
There will be events we wont be able to make – car problems or job related issues.

Thanks for looking and understanding

3/30/2010 (Update)

Welcome, welcome all to a brand new year 2010!!! Amazing things are in store for H.A.R. Racing. First to news of the goings on.
We would like to begin with a heartfelt and wonderful thanks to our great team members Rob, Zsanett, and Logan. Each of these people has gone above and beyond all expectations during our little hiatus.

Robert, thanks to his concerted efforts, has helped us begin a relationship with RKT Motorsports. RUMKO is one of the premier builders and service teams located in New York. We thank them for their time, patience and above all willingness to work with our great race team.

Logan, through his persistent effort, has landed us a PHENOMENAL sponsor for a suspension system. With that, we would like to introduce our 2010 suspension sponsor… AST Suspensions. AST is a proven suspension system over in Europe that has competed in some of the top levels of racing.

This is a direct quote of information regarding AST from their site:

“35 Years ago, Piet Kreeft started his career at Research & Development Department at a well-known shock absorber company. At that time they supplied shock absorbers to the automotive racing and other industries. After a short period in R&D, Piet specialized in suspension technology for sports and racing applications. Five days a week he worked on the development of shock absorbers, while his weekends were spent on sports and race tracks all over the world where he amassed a wealth of experience and information.

He always maintained close contacts with the engineers and drivers of the cars and was able to test new developments in practice immediately. We can safely say that the shock absorbers purpose-built by Piet Kreeft helped many driver cross the finish line as the race winner. And among many famous names was Emmerson Fittipaldi in the Indycars in Indianapolis, USA.

Then, Piet Kreeft decided to combine his extensive knowledge and experience with the specialist product know-how of the Smits Engineering Works of Valkenswaard, The Netherlands, leading to the creating of AST.”

We look forward to working with this suspension company for our 2010 race season.

Lastly but not least of all, we would like to state that we have become a nearly exclusive distributor of Speedline Corse rally wheels.

Please click HERE for your Speedline rally wheel questions/comments/orders

Thanks to all who continue to support us by reading our site, coming to events, or participating in discussion. We happily look forward to showing you what H.A.R Racing has to offer in 2010.
